Exactly. Plus not only did he leave his collicy baby to film Juno but he left his family at least half of the year for many years to film ozark plus took on other projects so he was gone for more than half the year for years yet he has the audacity to ask why a woman wouldn’t want kids.

I noticed that after marriage, along with the fact that technically we do have the resources to provide for children, me getting my tubes tied at 31 became like... I was personally insulting people. Like because I COULD support children I was slapping everyone in the face by not doing so. I just tell them I'm not ever gonna make someone have to hear their mother finally lost her battle with depression, and that usually shuts them up real fast😆.

I was raised in evangelical Christian household, my dad was a music pastor. I was dragged to many meetings where Jerry Falwell’s plan to create the “moral majority” was talked about openly. I didn’t deconstruct until I had two kids, a boy and girl, and the sexist messaging got more intense as a young mom. In a lot of these churches men are taught to seek out progressive women and clip our wings. Christian girls get the purity culture BS starting before potty training, but boys are encouraged to hide their position to help trap (they say “convert”) progressive women. There is an aspect of “we know boys will be boys so let them sow their wild oats with the bad women, and we can save some of them.” You might think in purity culture the real “prize” wife would be the pure church women, but no. There’s like extra social currency for men who trap and convert “liberal women.” My dad did this to my mom even, and it was so sad because my mom had been a foster kid whose dad had self deleted. She just wanted to be loved.
