Imagine if they actually try to implement plug in mileage tracking and intervention device's. "Oh no I sold my 202X car and now only use my old car thats most advanced feature is power windows"

In the high desert a majority of the working people work down the hill, 30+ miles each way… we live in an area that doesn’t upkeep its roads, but we will have to pay to drive to work just because we are driving far?? Interesting

NC has a mileage use tax or we did at one point. Not sure how CA’s is going to work. I found out about NC’s when we moved back. We moved away for two years, and it cost us $40 in state fees to move to TN. Not car property tax there. Moved back to NC and got hit with a mileage usage tax on our cars based on current mileage of the cars. Had to pay $800 to move back. 🙄

Ohio has extra tax on hybrids and electric cars. So when you get your registration you pay the extra tax.

The thing is, I would be totally cool with it if they just got rid of all gas taxes and then made everybody pay a mileage tax.... That way, no matter what car you drove. We all got taxed the same.... But they wanna keep the gas tax, and the high registration for electric vehicles and also make us pay a mileage tax.... That's the problem.
