@thepottymouthguru: If rejection hits your body before your thoughts, you’re not broken, trust me. This is how an ADHD nervous system snd brain processes threat. Part 1 explains what’s happening in your brain and body. If this feels familiar, you’re not alone, I promise. Comment RSD if you want part 2 🧠💙 ❤🤟🏻🌿 #unfuckyourself #adhd#rsd #thepottymouthguru #healingpatterns

This. My parents were astounded when I'd remember "arguments" years later bc of how intensely I felt during them. For them it was a Tuesday, for me they said something so hurtful it became engrained upon my heart. I had to learn how to regulate, to step back and realize if my reaction was proportional to the "offense". It took me years to learn this and I still have issues.
Ambiguity is the DEVIL.

important addition to the fight or flight response, is freeze. this is unfortunately how my brain likes to react and I just shut down and have to actively fight to stay present

The fact that I'd describe WHY I remember something happening the way it did because of how I FELT while it was happening 😭

Psychiatrists diagnose people that experience this with BPD. Then they try to guilt trip them and tell them their personalities are a problem, learn to be better 🥲🙃 as an AuDHD it’s been hell.

Ok, now imagine this is how your brain works with any sense of rejection and then add finding out you’ve actually been lied to and cheated on for over a decade. I’m self-combusting and have zero control over it.

It’s really rough on people on the spectrum (AUTISTIC). It’s not just emotional, the pain is unbearably physically painful.

Ugh, I read way to much into everything. Can't even handle constructive criticism. Not invited to something because there are limited people allowed...that person hates me or doesn't see me as important. If someone wants to talk to me about something, I automatically assume I'm in trouble. It can be so debilitating sometimes 🙄

wait so this is why I physically and mentally struggle with criticism? like, I cant even explain the feelings I get but I get really upset about it. I don't do that with any other area of my life
