@onlythingtravel: ACROS Fukuoka was designed by architect Emilio Ambasz in the 1990s as a response to public backlash over losing one of Fukuoka’s last downtown green spaces. Rather than eliminating the park, the building was required to return it vertically. Today, the stepped terraces support more than 50,000 plants across over 70 species, creating one of the most ambitious examples of green architecture in Japan. What makes ACROS interesting isn’t just how it looks, but the decision behind it. It’s a rare case where development didn’t simply replace nature, but was forced to coexist with it. #Sustainability #TravelTok #Fukuoka #Architecture #JapanTravel
