When my autistic son was a baby/toddler, the best way to help him when he was upset was to hang him upside down, quite quickly. We had no idea why he loved it so much, we called him ‘upside-down baby’, until he was diagnosed, then it all clicked 🥰

As a parent of two autistic children, I can say that’s it’s honestly impressive how they work things out to meet their needs. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve just stood and went “huh….well, that’s a choice” and just kept an eye on it.
