They can't detain Eric cause they need a warrant more than likely they want to hold her until they can get a judge to sign off on it however that is not legal because that's specifically what the fourth amendment protects you from unreasonable seizures it's not legally fair for you to close her a room and then block the doorway she is not free to move free to leave But they can't say that because they're not and they do not have the legal authority yet to detain her cause they can't articulate the crime that would give them probable cause to detain her
