How much I love this piece of music...it has a sadness that doesn't hurt if you can understand what I mean.

At that time: • He and his wife, Victoria Kamhi, were living in poverty. • Spain had just been devastated by Civil War. • Victoria suffered a serious miscarriage • She nearly died and required surgery. • Rodrigo was blind and largely dependent on her. This was an emotionally brutal period for both of them.
