We had the most awful magazines then awful writing vicious articles for mags aimed at teenagers. Truly awful!

I remember magazines circling and highlighting the tiniest ripple or dimple in a woman's skin and shaming them for it. Most of these were women writing women and it was so incredibly sad to see. it definitely shaped us and conditioned us to think we had to be nothing less than perfect 24/7 365. so damaging as teenagers to read. Nothing has changed only that curvy is more acceptable but you still cant be "fat" and have cellulite or stretchmarks. Things that occure naturally. Being a woman fucking sucked then and it still sucks.

And she has always been absolutely beautiful. Not that it matters actually. Nobody should be treated that way.

She’s so beautiful and always been a fantastic artist. I’m sure all the public would agree - the press have a lot to answer for - sorry for your awful experience :(

I'd love to say the world has changed....but it hasn't. Still judged on a daily basis. Sad world

As a teen in 80/90’s this happened to normal folk too - not on the same level as celebs, but considered perfectly normal for people to comment on weight/looks I had it in the workplace, socially even extended family members 🙁🙏❤️

I seen Dannii live at a radio 1 roadshow in Rhyl in the early 90s. She was stunning (still is) and had a great voice.

Magazines aimed at younger women weren’t always advocates for women’s mental health.

Hats off to you Danni, surviving to tell the tale and compassion towards those who didn’t survive it. You are incredible 💗 I remember being a young woman in that time and having a dismorphia of some sort. Proud to say I got out of it too, can’t imagine what you’ve endured being in the public eye. Much love 💐
