@crmnallyobsessed: The mother of a 10-month-old girl has been sentenced for her needless death. On March 9, 2024, Halo Brenton was reported missing by her family. While searching for Halo, a General Electric security guard reported a woman trespassing on company grounds. It was there that Schenectady Police found Halo’s mother, Persia Nelson, inside of a heated shed. She claimed that she lost Halo and was unsure of how she wound up in the shed. Halo was later found in a drainage pipe on the General Electric campus, nearly drowning and suffering from hypothermia. She was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead. Nelson was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, second-degree manslaughter, and child endangerment. Surveillance cameras caught Nelson placing Halo in the drainage pipe and waiting at the scene for nearly 30 minutes before she abandoned her child. In October of 2025, she was found guilty of all charges. Nelson was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison. #truecrime #murder
