Would you be shocked to hear that they did not only assemble the car around that bolt. But they built the whole factory around it. The bolt arrives before the excavators break the ground.

Most aftermarket control arms for these model S/X come with new bolts so u can just cut the old ones instead of dropping battery

As a Tesla mechanic I can say that this was how they came from the factory, when we replace the links we have to cut the bolt and install them the opposite way

Yea I ran into this, marked the position, cut the bolt and flipped my marks onto the new bolt, while it was hard, totally doable for a diy person
