TikTok doesn’t appear to use a minimum comment length as a magic threshold that “tells the algorithm” you like something. What matters more is the fact that you commented at all (plus other signals like watching the video to the end, rewatches, likes, saves, shares, and whether you stick around on similar videos afterward).
That said, if your goal is to send the strongest “I’m engaged” signal without overthinking it:
1–5 words is usually enough (e.g., “More like this”, “This is perfect”, “Need more of this”).
A short sentence (6–20 words) is a nice “high-intent” comment without being spammy.
Going super long doesn’t reliably add extra juice, and can even be less effective if it looks copy-pasted or generic.
If you want to maximize the signal (best bang for effort), do this combo:
Watch to the end (or rewatch once)
Comment something specific to the video (not just “lol”)
Save it (this is a strong signal)
Then watch 2–3 more videos in that same niche and engage lightly
Examples that work well:
“More vids like this please”
“This is exactly what I want in my feed”
“Part 2? I’m locked in”
“The way you explained this… perfect”
If you tell me what kind of content you’re trying to get more of (fitness, history, guitar, outdoors, etc.), I can give you comment templates that fit that niche and don’t look botty.
