@parisimo_beauty: I see this type of breakage far too often 😔 This client had severe thinning and breakage around her hairline from repeated use of gummy/wax gels. These gels were originally created for straight and fine hair textures for slick, spiky styles. They were never designed for Afro-textured hair that needs moisture, flexibility and gentle handling. On our hair, they often: • Dry the hair & scalp out • Create buildup • Cause tension at the hairline • Lead to breakage over time And most people don’t even realise it’s happening… until the damage is already there. Healthy hair is not about what looks good today. It’s about what still looks good in 6 months and 1 year. If you’re constantly slicking your edges with heavy gels, please be mindful. Your hairline is delicate. Protect it 🌱🌱🌱#healthyhairjourney #protectyourhair #afrohaircare #HairCareTips #healthyhairhabits
I don’t think it’s the gummy, it’s the straightening.

What gels do you recommend because I have 3c-4b hair ? I’m from the Caribbean it’s very humid here and I need when I do a low bun my hair to stay. Plus I have breakage from overuse of edge controls so I need something to keep the shorter hair down and only the gummy gel the red one keeps my hair down 🥺

This type of breakage could be a result of too many ponytails also

Obviously regular harsh gels cause damage but that is not just gummy that’s is heat and tension.

Most of our hairstyles and products are focused on aesthetics not hair health. This needs to change. The sleek hairline pandemic seems to be worse than the baby hair trend

Gummy is so bad, that if I do my nails before using it, it strips off my nail polish

I don’t think it’s just the gummy cuz I have the same breakage in the same areas and I didn’t use it all around

I’m starting to believe this. Although my hair never had an issue with this product, I’ve seen soo many people with this shared experience. Do you think they changed the formula?
