I hear you, and it's frustrating to death. I heard a wonderful analogy once on this topic. a friend comes over to your house and intentionally spills red wine all over your new white couch. you hand her cleaners to get the stain out but she just leaves. you can choose to look at the stain every day and be reminded of those emotions or you can show up for yourself and clean it up so you can get back to your life. I loved that. Growth can be excruciating. When we show up for ourselves in the ways no one else does, it is so empowering.
