A Florida driver's license is typically canceled when the state determines it should never have been issued. Unlike a suspension (temporary) or revocation (permanent termination due to offenses), a cancellation usually stems from administrative errors or fraud.
Common reasons include:
Fraud or Error: Providing false information, fake identification, or fraudulent documents on the application.
Incomplete Requirements: Failing to finish a required driver improvement school or failing a re-examination.
Withdrawal of Consent: A parent or guardian withdrawing their signature for a minor's license.
Ineligibility: The Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) realizes the driver was not legally entitled to the license at the time of issuance.

Yes, she is right, the officer was rude. However, police are not in the hospitality business. Over emotional, in their profession, is how people try to take advantage and try to manipulate the situation. They are here to protect your rights, protect your safety, but not to protect your feelings.
