I got extremely lucky. I was addicted to ecstasy every single day for 7 months straight. 1 bad high is all it took for me to quit cold turkey. The withdrawals were hell. I lost a lot of friends. And man the brain zaps genuinely terrifying.

It is refreshing to hear commentary completely free of user blaming. A huge cause of my many relapses was people guilting me about my alcoholism. Thankfully I am proof that any one can get sober if you stay with us. 15 years sober now is time I didn’t deserve.

I had no trouble stopping drinking once I wanted to, just went cold turkey one day. Opioids just made me queasy, so I never got into them. Quitting smoking took me YEARS.

guys please do not go off any psych medications by yourself, do not quit cold turkey especially if you're not currently on the lowest dosage. talk to your doctors about tapering them off!! it doesn't have to be so unpleasant, hard and dangerous. you can do it, be safe 💜

my doctor said to me its best not to quit on my own accord, and wait for rehab. sadly it was during coving. Had to wait 6 weeks before they had space. So I had to drink the same amount everyday, even If I was totally done with it and really wanted to stop. think that helped me to keep sober after that. I dont want that anymore! this year celebrating 5 years living clean

I don't have any statistics for this, but almost every regular w33d smoker that I've ever known has tried to quit and then relapsed. I'm not sure what it is about it, but they just can't seem to stay away from it for more than a couple months at the most

I started taking kr8t0m 5 years ago for my fibromyalgia. I never saw anyone say anything bad about till maybe a year ago. I wanna stop but I work full time on my feet all day. So im not sure what to do cause I know im ganna be in so much pain..

My uncle quit drinking for two days because there was a rule he had to be sober to go to family thanksgiving. The withdrawal from being sober for 2 days caused him to go into a seizure during family photos. It was so awful. The doctors said if he doesn’t stop right then, he will die from being an alcoholic or from quitting in the future.

Cymbalta (SNRI) is one of the hardest prescriptions for me if I miss it. I basically get the flu, migraine, and brain mush after missing one day. There are instances of people getting seizures after going cold turkey
