My 5.9 grid heater is turned off in my tune, even in temps below 10 degrees it’ll start like a champ every time

Canadian :
keeping a block heater plugged in will not damage anything, the block heater may wear out after 5-10 years maybe...generally block heaters now run when temps get low I.E. below -20 c.

My guy.. get a webasto engine heater for it. Run that bishh for an hour and the engine will be at operating temperature. Quite common here in Canada to see pick ups with them now.

I don’t get the downside of not using it? It only gets down to 25 degrees where I live and if it gets below freezing (or it’s going to) I plug it in. I’m talking about my dump truck though, not sure if he is talking about his truck or pickup

Engine block heaters are generally recommended to be engaged when temperatures drop to -15°C (5°F) or lower so there’s a good chance it ain’t doing anything
