that office tried to use non-lethal force, he didn't have a choice by the end, the guy was fully intent on hurting the officer, the cop tried using a taser and baton before pulling his gun and by that point was probably thinking he was going to die if he didn't use it.

I am on the side of the law and I respect it, but from the first moment the police officer was defiant and aggressive. An officer must be firm but respectful and intelligent so that a situation does not escalate into a dangerous one.
