@allieandsam: We bought a cute little one and a half story home and we love it but didn’t think we’d be here forever 😅 but here we are 5 years later realizing we might not ever leave… So let’s fix it up and make it more liveable for our every growing family! Confession, we don’t live in one of those fancy influencer homes 😅 And we know we are so, so lucky to have been able to buy this home in general and don’t take it for granted! We have a roof over our head and that’s what really matters 🤍
so your kids are going to share a bedroom until they move out?

you could add small cabinets above your cabinets for more storage or even cute baskets for now

We've lived in our starter house for 30 years. We raised 5 children here. We were always gonna get a bigger house but our mortgage is $600. I just didn't want to be house poor. The smaller house helped us have all the extras like zoo memberships, theater subscription, travel, sports. We could say "yes" a lot more because our house wasn't the biggest or best.

Yesss… and I have a 2% interest rate, and now there is water under my floors that nobody has been able to diagnose yet so it could be $20k-$100k worth of repairs for a house I bought for $270k 😭

Raise your cabinets!!! It’ll make the kitchen feel much bigger and you can add floating shelves underneath the cabinets for more storage too!

There’s no such thing as a starter home anymore. You have to stay in a home for at least 10 years for it to appreciate in value enough to make it worth it

this happened to my parents! we moved into our house when i was just born and they thought they were gonna be there for a year or two. then we were too poor and we were there for 4 years when the 2008 recession hit. We ended up finally being able to move out in 2013 😭
