Isn’t ROI the measure of how much you’ll make back on top of the amount spent and the profit margin is the percentage you’d make of the sales?

Nope you’re wrong - £5k spend @40% ROI does not mean £7k revenue. Can have £5k spend, £10k rev on that spend and profit be £2k which is 40% ROI. You then use your example of £120k rev @50% ROI would be £60k profit. Wrong. If you’ve spent £60k to get that £120k revenue and your ROI is 50%, your profit would be £30k. You can’t work out ROI from your revenue and profit figures, only margin.

Roi is definitely is bigger factor than margin on Amazon. A healthy margin only really helps cash flow for people who don’t have a lot of capital. 15% margin 40% roi is better than 18% margin 30% roi.
