My theory is that responsive designs killed customizable skins. When the same window has to fit different devices and screen sizes, it's much more difficult to have skins with shapes like angled ovals, irregular polygons, or borders defined by an alpha channel bitmap.

love your channel, but I think you mixed up windows media player with winamp, or at least some of the examples you showed are not just winamp you had windows media player. Still this was way cooler than what we have now !! Thank you for your content !
