My 12 yr old try to do this. And I stopped it immediately. This is the creepiest most co dependent behavior I’ve ever encounter

Do any of you NOT remember being in high school back in the in the day ( I'm 56) sitting on the house phone with your "boy/girl friend" till you fall asleep? Bc I remember doing this. Neither wanted to be the one to "hang up"

back in the 1900s before cell phones my bf and I would talk until we fell asleep on the phone and then wait until the other woke up to resume conversation. normal 17yo behavior with different tech

Chill out - as someone who used to do this, it only went on for a couple of days maximum. Nothing to do with ‘abuse’ just teenagers being lovey dovey and over the top. Its really not a big deal.

It is the weirdest thing, but I concur. Yes they are indeed on FaceTime all of the time for reasons unknown.

Yes it’s normal teenager behavior…I did this when I was 16…just not with FaceTime …only phone line. It’s the same behavior for years but with different tech.

FaceTime sleepovers mostly started during Covid because nobody could actually see their friends

Yes, I do not recommend this at all. We just went through hell on this topic. Final decision was to not allow the cell phone after 10 PM on any of the kids bedrooms because they were receiving calls during the night every day, or having FaceTime all night long. This is crazy. We literally take the phone at 10 PM and we've been looking an improvement in mood and performance at school. What's happening is they're not sleeping as they suppose every night because everybody's calling or texting or FaceTime at 1 AM.

Shocked the hell out of me I realized my kids just stayed on FaceTime all night long with their others. Seems it’s the norm for this generation and not sure how I feel about it.
