When Yvonne Chaka Chaka speaks, you don’t just hear an icon. You hear decades of courage, purpose and unmistakable African excellence. 🇿🇦❤️ What a privilege to experience the legendary Yvonne Chaka Chaka at the Duke Corporate Education Women’s Day celebration. There is something incredibly powerful about being in a room filled with women who have led, challenged, built, survived, reinvented themselves and continued to create space for the women coming behind them. And Yvonne embodies so much of that. Beyond the music and global recognition is a woman who has consistently used her voice, influence and platform for something bigger than herself. That, for me, is leadership. From a Governance, Risk and Compliance perspective, we often talk about leadership through frameworks, structures and accountability. But leadership is also about legacy, courage, influence and what you choose to do with the power you have. Women’s Day should remind us that representation matters, but representation without genuine inclusion is not enough. Women must be able to enter leadership spaces, contribute without being diminished, challenge without being labelled difficult and succeed without constantly having to prove that they deserve the chair they already earned. That is why moments like these matter. Thank you Duke Corporate Education for creating a space for learning, connection and celebration, and to Yvonne Chaka Chaka for reminding us that a powerful voice becomes even more powerful when it is used to lift others. A woman with a voice is powerful. A woman who uses that voice to create space for others leaves a legacy. 👑🇿🇦 #YvonneChakaChaka #DukeCorporateEducation #DukeCE #WomensDay #WomensMonth
