fun fact: the scene where ivan fights till was when till saw everyone making flower crowns for their crushes (mizi to sua) so he made one for ivan and gave it to him, but ivan was new and didn't know what it meant so he crushed it, and till took it as a rejection and tried to point his love towards mizi instead to have some sort of comfort or reciprocation of his love whilst ivan liked him back the entire time

I wish that Alien Stage had a more mature fandom that understood the complexity of it. Every ship is meant to be seen as “toxic” or “problematic” in some way. The entirety of it is meant to highlight love, and how these people were raised in a society where they could not properly understand it, so it morphs into manipulation rather than anything nurturing.
