@thefayolajameeshow: Systemic Racism in Canada: Dismantling Black Communities- 📍Jane and Finch #BlackTikTok#BlackHistory#blackhistoryfacts#racism#toronto
Now it's gentrified because of the York University community they built with the new housing, transit, and upgraded malls. Imagine if that ingenuity was put forth for the original community it was intended for?

I lived there and I was denied a credit card from BMO. When I enquired it was because of my address.

all schools receive the same funding. it's the culture of the residents that causes the issues. if you want a great community, become productive members of that community

I’m just wondering :
Brampton is highly invested in benches parks greenery . Black people were here first not by choice and still get the shorter end of the straw compared to

The biggest problem is they only make plans to improve this, when there about to gentrify the neighborhood, and try to sell the community a dream like there doing it for them

I lived in t.o. in 2007-2008 and went to a comedy show at the Gladstone where a performer made a personal announcement that she was renting her apt there if anyone was looking, and it came "with a gun". everyone laughed.

My grandparents were working class and lived in the neighborhood for 50 years. I have a deep love for the neighborhood it brings me so much nostalgia. I hate the reputation it gets it’s misunderstood.

while i do agree, there are people within that community who have made those areas into unsafe neighbours. you can blame that on the government but at the same time, it’s not entirely their fault. i’ve seen it just be a family thing passed through generation through generations. if a mother is into selling drugs etc more than likely their children do too. a lot of other visible minorities live in those areas but are still able to thrive because they didn’t allow themselves to be a product of their development
