@fixingpain: As I bring the leg up, the first barrier is the hamstring — you’ll see the knee start to bend even though I’m trying to keep it straight. That’s muscular tension. Go further and you hit a second, deeper barrier — sharper, more protective. That’s neural tension. When I fully extend the knee and dorsiflex the foot, I’m loading the sciatic nerve. Once that nerve tension releases, the hamstring suddenly has more length.
