@anthonyjeselnik: From Jeselnik Book Club’s review of “The Getaway,” now on YouTube.

Dylan :

A clockwork orange removed the last chapter that completely reshapes the entire narrative! Kubrick is amazing, that movie is amazing, but the story is wildly different when you take the last chapter into account

Mark Day :

The only similarity between Jurassic Park the movie and Jurassic Park the book was that they both had dinosaurs in them.

AaronNovik :

I thought you were talking about IT at first. IYKYK. Lol.

Benthic Glow :

The last chapter is like "No Exit" by J.P Sartre. It was too surreal for a movie. Maybe Thompson had just read some French existentialism and got inspired.

markus :

No Country For Old Men didn't end happily.

foolzmate :

The cave under the pond. Never done. Haven, never done.

Lord Quackerton :

I’ve read this book, (loved it!) and seen at least one of the movies

jefereynolds :

read more jim thompson! he was great.

Diogenes’ Bowl :

Big Jim was the man

Dorian the Great (DTG) :

Hell yeah, I love reading

Lilac Fortress :

interesting approach to hyping your book club and using subliminal messaging to hype the book. .02 second flash of the book was too long.

GoatHugger :

the final chapter was rly shocking and I was very disappointed it wasn't in the 1972 movie adaptation

appleuser79723846 :

This was a great breakdown on YouTube.

Jeff :

Ok, now do The Postman Always Rings Twice. Two movie versions, both pretty good, based on a great pulp novel.

KateB21 :

In “Jaws,” Spielberg cut out the subplot in the book where the chief’s wife has an affair with the ichthyologist.

Grizzlystaircase :

I’m in my 50s, university professor in a social science, and I have never enjoyed reading. You are really making me want to keep trying.

James Ellis :

I would argue that Neil Gaimans “Star Dust” is a better movie than the book. And I like the book.

Matt :

Hollywood never has the best intentions

mikehayes :

Heat 2 is gonna be tough to film.

John Simon :

Njoroge TM :

🥰

Erick Aho :

Do you read the “classics” like Moby Dick or older greats like Jaws or the Exorcist? Keep shouting out your faves, very cool!

IWillNeitherTikNorTock :

Can’t stop clocking the watch

KokoMoko :

Idk. If you told me there was a movie where Alec Baldwin gets poisoned, I'm in.
