@h5_mamaventures: Why we chose sheep instead of cows 🐑 Sheep can breed in their first year, have a shorter gestation, and offer multiple income streams from meat to breeding stock to future show lambs. For first year farmers, it just sounds right. But what do we know 🤣 #sheepfarming #firstyearfarming #familyfarm
People don’t understand how little input you have in sheep. We just sold 7 lambs, $5 a pound. Unbelievable. And they are super fun.

Tip for sheep. They can turtle. Aka get to top heavy and die from stress after getting flipped on their backs snd not being able to not flip over. So keep the ones that are bigger and closer to lambing near but

Could I ask why you went with sheep gather than goats? I just started farming myself last year in late November and went with goats. I want to try sheep but don’t know where to start haha

Look at your growing flock! You are a real-deal farmer, friend! It is so exciting and satisfying to see you finally on the farm, building your life there.

I live on a sheep farm that has been going downhill since it’s started. I’m trying to figure out what to do to improve it. What are some tips you guys have for your sheep farms? We’re trying to make a slow transition from wool to hair sheep but are having a hard time getting lambs on the ground. Any suggestions or ideas?
