I wish they had food in airports.. even if they just carried prepackaged food or had vending machines with gluten-free choices.. it is so difficult traveling

For children in school- apply for a 504 plan (disability act) and they in turn by law need to provide a safe gf meal for your child at lunch

Do you just say you are celiac or do you cary a note from your doctor? With service dogs, people are not allowed to ask what the dog’s function is or why someone would need their service animal. Is it the same for celiac? That people are not allowed to question you if you state you are celiac?

Just learned this about the airport my last travel. All you need is your doctor’s note or show in my chart the diagnosis if TSA has questions or tries to deny you from bringing your outside food in.

I didn’t know this until I was applying for jobs and it was listed under the lists of possible disabilities under one question.

My daughter, frequent concert venues / restaurants and she brings a small cooler that says medical on the outside and she has her snacks and drinks with no issue. It has helped a ton being ADA protected.

I would like to see people and employers would also respect this. They do not. Some employers make employees travel internationally , so it makes a person who has this disability very anxious about even flying on long flights. Airports are difficult also.
