Ya as a mom i would have told mom to hold and awnsered the school first thing. if missed i would have been calling the school back IMMEDIATELY wouldnt have even listened to the voicemail.

Our school district doesn't even do this much. Since COVID you don't even have to come inside. For all grades PreK-12 you pull into the parking lot, call the office, tell them the name of the kid you are picking up. They'll send the kid out to the car, unescorted & unwatched regardless of age. No sign out sheet, no ID required. It's supposedly for "student safety" because it means they aren't letting "strange people" into the school.
