Same boat here. I wanted to line Notion but it didn’t work well with my ecosystem. I moved to Obsidian and put my notes in RAG - direct access for interacting with my notes and rag for related knowledge queries - it’s amazingly efficient. Added all my tasks and events to it and now I’m efficient too.

This is why I chose obsidian over notion a while back. I didn't know the impact of ai 3 years ago but I understand how software can operate on files I own. Ai has just made that real faster

Notion MCP can chew up tokens fast when it does work. For now, I’m using Notion within Atlas or with the Claude extension so the models can see the pages I’m working on and advise. But that’s certainly not the seamless experience I need though. I’ve invested too much in Notion to switch it up…at least not yet.

I asked my Claude to build new notion skills and mcps and it helped a lot. I did it specifically to integrate with other apps like TickTick and notebooklm so hyper niche but still helpful.

Hear me out - I’ve been really delighted with the results of having agents go get the files etc I need and then I start working with it all. Like if I could find the stuff on Notion and start using it there. Instead I have someone else go get it. It’s a work in progress. Also, most of my clients don’t have good tech stacks and are not intrepid. We work in….are you ready? No you’re not. BASECAMP.

I have Notion as my database but I find it disorganized even after re-organizing my files etc. I’m not sure if if should go Obsidian or something I create. I’ll stay tuned to see what others suggest!
