My dad once accidentally swallowed still water on a rafting trip when the raft tipped over in a stagnant section, he got Leptospirosis, ended up in isolation in the hospital & the bacteria got into his brain. It made him hallucinate that the doctors had "monstrous faces". He's fine now but HOO BOY was it scary 😂
