As a foster mama - awaiting the call is the worst part. But fostering is so rewarding! We have the best 2 kiddos right now - I’m blessed to be their caregiver ❤️❤️❤️

I was a licensed foster parent for a long time. It’s heartbreaking but so rewarding at the same time. I still keep in touch with one of them as she’s now an adult.

Waiting and anticipating the call is a mix of excitement and grief. You explained it well. I don’t even know if it’s excitement as much as a feeling of deep gratitude to be in a place to provide the safe space when needed but there’s no word for that really so exciting is how it’s describes. Or that’s how I felt.
