Episode 04: Ranking Oxford College Formal Dinners 🤩 Back again with episode 04 of my very “official” Oxford formal dining review series 😆 Admittedly, this formal is from a few weeks ago, but my gorgeous friend Ellie took me as a guest to Wadham College, and I have to say, this was one of my favourite formals so far 🫶🏼 Food: 8.5/10!! The starter was lovely, but the real highlight was the main course. We had pan fried sea bass with chilli and coriander couscous, and it was genuinely incredible. One of the best formal mains I have had at Oxford so far. The dessert was a pecan pie brownie with salted caramel ice cream, which was absolutely delicious and disappeared very quickly 🍨 Dining experience: 9/10!! The hall was stunning. Dark wood, candlelight, and a very traditional setting. The real candles on the tables made the whole evening feel particularly special ✨ Dark Academia: 9.5/10!! Wadham absolutely delivered on my very niche rating criteria. The hall felt wonderfully dark academia, especially with the candles 🕯️ Bonus category: the post formal snacks!! After dinner there was a fantastic spread of fruit and cheese, which was a lovely surprise. Then a few friends took me up to the MCR rooftop garden just as the sun was setting. The views were stunning and it was the perfect way to end the evening 🌅 Also, a small note on this reel. I normally remove the original audio from my formal videos, but this time I left it in. Partly for the formal dinner ASMR, but mostly because I loved the wholesome sound of friends chatting, laughing, and enjoying the evening together. It felt very Oxford and was too nice not to share 🤍 Overall, Wadham combined excellent food, a beautiful hall, and one of the best atmospheres I have experienced so far. A very strong contender on the formal dinner rankings. Stay tuned for episode 05 👀
