They weren’t in love or anything they are children in a terrible place and the girls have to dress up as boys so they can get food for there families they weren’t lovers they were friends from school before it was burned down from war and one of the girls was going to leave that place because the family married her sister off and the girl with curly hair was upset because they were going to leave together but they can’t go together and she has to stay there while the other one leaves to somewhere probably better
