Just a random rant. As an INFJ, sometimes when I hear people talking negatively about someone else right in front of me, I instinctively try to soften it, like pointing out the other side or showing it’s not as bad as they’re making it sound. I’m not trying to defend the person or anything; I just automatically want to understand why they behave that way. But because I do that, people often think I’m “taking sides” or being disloyal to the group venting session. Then they start disliking me for it. And honestly… it gets tiring. I keep wondering why I put so much effort into trying to understand other people’s behavior and intentions… when most of them never even try to understand mine. The other thing that drives me crazy: people will complain so passionately about certain traits or actions in someone else… but completely fail to see they do pretty much the same things themselves. The lack of self-awareness is wild. Idk if anyone actually gets what I’m trying to say 😂
