The Cradle of Advanced Fee Fraud in Nigeria The man here is Chief Maurice Ibekwe. He was from Okwelle, Imo State. He was a member of the House of Representatives where he chaired the Committee on Police Affairs. Chief Ibekwe was one of the originators of advanced fee fraud (419 ) in Nigeria. He was a known fraudster of international repute. In his league were Chief Emmanuel Nwude(Owelle of Abagana, Anambra and still alive), Chief Fred Ajudua from Ibuzo, Delta State and still alive, late Chief Victor Okafor (Ezego of Ihiala and from Anambra), late HRH, John Nebeolisa (Joneb) from Awkuzu, Anambra, Amaka and Ikechukwu Anajemba (both from Ogidi, Anambra State) etc. Hope Uzodimma who's the governor of Imo State was said to be a personal driver of Maurice Ibekwe. The administration of President Olusegun Obasanjo established EFCC in 2002 to tackle the rising cases of advanced fee fraud in Nigeria. After the establishment of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, its chairman, Nuhu Ribadu went for these fraudsters whose regular destinations were South Africa and Nigeria. Maurice Ibekwe was arrested and taken to detention. He died in custody in 2004 and never for one day enjoyed his reelection into the House of Representatives. EFCC went for the figures in the fraud industry, arrested, prosecuted and got them detained. Mohammed Abacha, Hendricks Omorume, Mike Amadi, Ade Bendel, Shina Olowo, Chrisogonus Okoro, Femi Ayeni, Henry Achiekwelu from Achi, Enugu State, etc. A good number of the names Oliver Decoque praised in his several highlife music albums were into advanced fee fraud from 1980s up till 2002 when EFCC was created to go after them. Some of the 419 kingpins such as Emmanuel Nwude & Fred Ajudua are still facing charges at different courts in Nigeria over advanced fee frauds committed in mid 1990s. Chief among these known Nigerian fraudsters was Maurice Ibekwe who won his second tenure into the House of Representatives but died in prison in 2004. He was replaced by Hon. Mike Ohia. Emmanuel Nwude, Ade Bendel, Fred Ajudua, Ikechukwu Anajemba among others were the most wanted of the fraudsters. EFCC was established exclusively to fight them and abrogate the high rise of advanced fee fraud in the country. The photo here is one of the late Maurice Ibekwe, one of the most notorious 419 figures in Nigeria. He's only second in his craft to Emmanuel Nwude who has remained the highest in pulling the most troubling advanced fee fraud deal by selling an inexistent airport in Nigeria to a foreign banking conglomerate. He was paid $242 million from 1995 to 1998 and another $191 million in cash by the Brazilian banking conglomerate whom he posed to as the CBN governor at the time. The Owelle of Abagana, Emmanuel Nwude was convicted in 2005 and was to serve a prison term of 25 years. He manipulated the system and got his release in 2006. He later forged court documents to reclaim his many seized properties which was detected and trashed. #fypシ゚ #fypage #fypシ #fypage #fypシ゚
