By far one of the BIGGEST & MOST DELICIOUS harvests of 2024 thus far!! We are so pumped if you can’t tell 🤣🤣 Cassava rooted history in Africa where drought is common but no match for the strong cassava plant. I got my first cane from @practical_plantsfl and I even snapped off a tiny piece from it and stuck both in the ground sometime in late spring 2023! Following some great advice we received by planting these canes at a 45* angle gave us such a massive yield almost 100lbs. of cassava root and 2-3 x that weight in canes!! Once you grow cassava you won’t be short of any in the future. The abundance is overwhelming in all the best ways as it provides so much good tasty and low sugar, carb, and starchy benefits compared to its other root/tater buddies. I now have about 10+ canes in the ground thriving and ready for another massive harvest for next year and to share with any carb lover who wants a healthy and easy alternative! Boil and mash into mashed cassava, fry or bake into yuca fries and chips, or powder it down to have your own delicious and perfect flour for all your baking needs! The leaves are also beneficial as it is said to help in those with chronic arthritis and joint aches. Once boiled and dehydrated we use this tea for family who struggles with RA and more! Save the canes to plant for next season and compost the rest. Closing this loop is easier than ever and did I mention tasty?! Subscribe for more details on how to plant harvest and make your very own home grown cassava staples!! The whole family approved! 👍👍 #cassava #root #roots #canopy #heat #Summer #droughttolerant #foodforest #growfood #florida #zone9b #tropical #plant #plants #garden #farm #farming #foodforeststaple #gardenstaple #whattogrow #gratitude
