$3,000,000 x 3.25% in a HYSA is $97,500 annually. Take away 25% leaves you with $73,125 in profit annually. Thats with a significantly low rate. If we go back to the 4-5% range you’re looking at 6 figures easily!

No. If I only had 3ms in the bank when I retire at 65 (I'm 23) that 3 million will have the same buying power as 500k does today....

I put almost $1 million in treasury bills and 250,000 in HYSA. I spend the interest money and do not touch the principal. I also work full-time but would like to work part-time in the next few years.

I believe I've read somewhere in an article that $100 million invested in high yield equities is when you truly become "rich". Zero need to optimize, budget, or care about market cycles. The market shock barely affects you. But yes $3-$5 million is good for anyone to have.

I didn’t want to just live “comfortable”. What you may feel is unnecessary, I feel is a necessity.

Depending on how many children you have and where you live. I’d say 20 million is where you can live financially comfortable ANYWHERE in the world.

I don’t get this point of view, it’s not about whether or not you need it, it’s about the fact that you can and that’s all.
