I'm in England. Once you've paid for the goods they're no longer the stores property. Also ultimately I usually pay by card so in a couple of days the online bank statement will show date amount and store I paid also get the receipt Cops in England don't usually get involved in store theft unless it a large amount 200 English pounds or more
