The whole point of tarot cards is you’re not supposed to memorize the definitions you’re supposed to let them have a conversation and you interpret that conversation. As someone who’s been reading tarot for 20 years and has done private parties and large events, I don’t recommend these as a permanent deck, but a good tool for beginners. By trying to memorize the definitions, you’re not listening to the cards and it creates bad readers because you are not using your intuition or creating a relationship with your deck.

I have my cards on the coffee table and whenever I’m just sitting around I shuffle them. Sometimes I’ll pull but always shuffling. If I’m reading for myself should I be cleansing the deck each time?

I trust a reader that uses tarotorial cards over a reader that doesn’t 99% of the time because no way you memorized all that. The 1% exception is for initiated OTO and A. A. graduated Thoth deck readers cause yes way they did actually memorize all that.
