Total dissolved solids has nothing to do with how safe water is to drink. It could register 0 and be unsafe if there’s other contaminants. And we get some of our necessary minerals from water.

parts per million water does not mean that there is bad stuff that is dissolved in the water just means there is stuff dissolved in the water If you dissolve magnesium in your water it's going to show up as red When magnesium is healthy and you have to have it! take a sample and send it to a lab they'll tell you whether or not your water is bad for you but that thing does not do it!

I’m so tired of people saying this meter tells them whether or not water is safe to drink! It’s just measuring solids. Next you’re going to tell me I shouldn’t eat solid food.

It does NOT test for contaminants. It just tests for total dissolved solids. Like hard water vs soft water.
