@lochnessofficial: In reference to this video here @Nessie I can’t believe it’s come to this, but frankly I’ve run out of ideas. The pygmy raccoon is listed as a critically endangered species by the IUCN, which means it is at extreme, imminent risk of going extinct. And unless people start paying attention to them, they don’t stand a chance.

"I didn't hear a word you said" couldnt be me, I love when gorgeous people explain to me things they're passionate about

that 'you wont find these in your backyard' sounds load-bearing 😔 i feel your pain -- local news covered my friend finding a critically endangered leafcutter bee in our uni botanical garden this summer and most of the comments on IG were people saying 'we get these on our balcony every summer 🥰🥰🥰' girl no you dont 😭😭😭

Vitmor :

I'm listening

TJ🇨🇦🍁 :

You’re telling me you get to study raccoons in the wild, wear bikinis at work, work in a warm climate, and do your part to save little guys like these? 😭You won the career lottery

Small Circle :

Would it be useful to tag zoos in hopes that they would fund research or consider collecting a few for conservation? Do they have a species survival plan? How long have we known they were a separate species?

Bracken 🇵🇸 :

PEOPLE ARENT EXCITED ABOUT SMALL RACOONS?!?!?!?!

Watermelon :

I literally tell everyone I can about these babies. I am a known info dumper and they have become my most recent fascination

max :

I took an environmental policy class last year that covered the Pygmy raccoon, and we had to draft write-ups for them and a few other endemic species. Helped me realize how intricate conservation really is, in the field and around legislation

Phoenix :

You look great in your swimwear but I feel bad for the pygmy raccoons. I wasn't aware that they were that far south. Is there any shelters to raise them? Can any be made? Bison were brought back through a method like this.

KingDrakon :

honestly this seems a great way to get people's attention for research and conservation

Dr.Dink :

Uhhhhhhhhhh ya I love penguins…..

nunyubiznooz :
