ehhh its a bit more complex. the homes were built with a carport and the vast majority of the homes in that area still are carports. the HOA didnt think that anyone would modify them by installing their own doors and made a rule making that against policy, but a few homes got grandfathered in. then you had someone illegally using the now garage as a room that was being rented out. by making them open the door 8-5 m-f was some sort of compromise but they shouldve just paid for the cost to remove the doors

I tell the HOA my door staying closed unless they wanna have a security guard sitting there at the open door while I’m at work because my insurance will not cover me if I leave the door open that is unconstitutional and HOA’s need to go away
