I’ve finally let go of everything that once weighed me down. All the notes, thoughts, and memories stored in that phone, my silent companion for eight long years, are gone now. Selling it felt like closing a chapter I had been carrying far longer than I needed to. That device held my daily journals, the fragments of trauma and sadness I used to revisit far too often. But I’ve realized I no longer need to hold on to those pieces of myself. They belonged to a version of me who was hurting, surviving, trying to make sense of the world one entry at a time.
Today, I am no longer that person.
Over the years, I’ve grown, changed, and stepped into someone entirely different, someone stronger, more grounded, and finally at peace with the battles that once consumed me. Every pain that shaped me has already been acknowledged, felt, and accepted. I don’t deny any of it, and I don’t run from it either. But I also refuse to carry it any further. Those memories have served their purpose; they taught me resilience, clarity, and self-worth. And now, they can rest.
Letting go doesn’t mean forgetting the lessons, it means releasing the hurt that clung to them. By parting with that phone, I wasn’t just removing an object from my life; I was freeing myself from the emotional weight stored within it. I’ve made space for peace, for growth, and for a version of myself who no longer defines life through old wounds.
I am happy now. Truly. Not because everything is perfect, but because I am no longer tethered to a past that no longer serves me. I’ve chosen to move forward, with gratitude for where I’ve been and excitement for where I’m going. And this time, I’m carrying only what helps me become the person I continue striving to be. 😇
