Honestly it gets to a point where we need to realise that they are striking in the wrong place,if you have a problem with the fact that your child wasn’t placed or was placed in a school you didn’t want go take it up with the district. Striking won’t help your child get placed and also HSA is not the only high school that exists around Pretoria. Depriving us from our education won’t help you with anything and you still expect our school to have the perfect image,we now live in fear because learners that are getting hospitalised n the school nor department won’t cover the expensive bills. As old people I expect you to handle it in the right way and not to deprive learners from their education. Hold yourselfs like real adults

I stay approximately 2 kilometres from the school. I'm within the school feeder zone but my daughter was not accepted, while kids from Mabopane, Garankuwa, Sosha were accepted. Is that not corruption?

It’s unfortunate this is happening to black community. It’s also sad for those children coming from Mabopane Sosha and other kasie their parent also wants the best for them but u also have to be given first chance. The department is failing they have erected classrooms for Thereza park secondary that school is already dysfunctional no parent want to take their children there. And for the sad part parents from kasie have to take children to Private schools which are very expensive. We know the problem tsa dikolo tsa ko kasie so dept should try harder to ensure proper and safe schooling ko kasie

I don’t understand why they are doing this to the children they have nothing to do with the strike. Now the children can’t be taught because of them and they don’t understand that we have tests coming soon and for them doing this is unacceptable we as children need to be taught as they are parents they also need to understand that they need to grow up and learn that they is no more space available

I followed up at the school the very next day after applying online. Mind you, I stay just a few kilometers away. The admin lady advised me to try another school🥺🥺

So after you have forced the school to accept additional learners, where will you be when teachers have to teach classes of over 50 to 70 learners? Where will you be when the school becomes understaffed? Will you assist the school to pay for additional SGB teachers?

Now we are sent work online at night that we could have recieved during the day but adults felt its a great idea to lock students outside their own school and let them fall behind on work. We already fell behind the first two weeks and now we are falling behind even more because of useless strikes

I truly feel sorry for those parents. I know Akasia High School is close to your homes, but to be honest, it isn’t worth it. If people were fighting to get into Gerries, that would make sense. Akasia High School is like the Rankuwa school, the standards have really declined. You can’t confidently send your children there. Akasia and Amandasig high are very similar; the only real difference is that learners from Amandasig perform better in matric than Akasia.
