🇺🇸🐟CJ M.🐟🇺🇸 :
i don’t like meeting people, i don’t have the want to help people, i don’t like none of that. and that’s coming from someone who was literally raised on helping my grandmother (she lives in a place for old people, not a nursing home js a place for elders) and i’ve helped people with conditions, health issues, messy house, crystal clean houses, etc. and in every one i helped i had them give me a specific set job and if they need something after then verbally tell me exactly what to do because if they didn’t i learned that i would stand around and be awkward and just chuckle here and there. it’s not that i didn’t like helping them because i did but it’s more so that im not an emotional person, i know i can’t talk to people who aren’t a specific type of person and people who are more emotional are NOT in and when your helping older people that unfortunately is the case alot of the time (mind you this was not a job and i rarely got paid because i don’t mind doing physical jobs) but older guys who couldn’t move stuff like this older black guy had a bunch of DJ stuff, he had a brain issue or something that affected his movements, he told me he needed help moving his stuff, i did it easy. and over time i learned that im not a care giver, im not a therapist, i can’t be emotional with someone i don’t know. im someone who does physical labor. i will still go to her place and help people but i make it clear im going to help them with something not talk to them alone. so this could very well be your situation too. (side note i hate i hate talking to new people and im very socially anxious and know when im making someone anxious or uncomfortable and a lot of when i talk to strangers i speak in a lower tone because im not there to entertain them and it makes them uncomfortable)
