Australian here. We had the same viewing experience. In reality I came for the halftime show, didn’t understand a word, loved it, and understood it loud and clear.

The whole point of the Super Bowl is the commercials and the halftime entertainment. Except for this year - the pregame entertainment was vital.

The first and last Super bowl that I watched was in 2002. and I will never forget realizing that 4 minutes left on the clock was actually 122 hours of human time. physicists need to study this phenomenon in football. because time does not move linearly in that game. I hope you all are enjoying yourselves.

our military pays for the flyovers, the shots of service people, the heartwarming reunions, all the random honoring our heroes moments. its part of their advertising budget. all of the patriotic imagery is designed to increase recruitment. makes you look at it a little more sideways when you know about the money.
