@ignitebaseballmedia: Today we’re looking at Austin Martin’s swing. The best thing about his swing is his forward move and his vision. His forward move reminds me a little bit of Ohtani’s. He gets his front foot out in its position and then transitions his lead hip toward it. This is a really effective way to make sure that you are moving your pelvis forward early and slow. He is also very locked in, pointing his head at the ball. This is very important to be able to see late movement and make mid-swing adjustments. The only thing that I would nitpick in his swing is that his arms move ahead of his trunk. In the cinematic sequence, we want our pelvis to move first, then our thoracic spine to launch off our pelvis, and then our hands/arms to launch off the movement of our thoracic spine. Martin does a great job getting his hips to go first, but his hands shoot out in front of his chest before his rotation has a chance to develop. If he improves this, it will really help with his power production. ⸻ 📊 Austin Martin’s 2025 Stats • Games Played: 50 • At-Bats (AB): 156 • Runs: 22 • Hits: 44 • Doubles: 8 • Triples: 1 • Home Runs: 1 • RBI: 7 • Walks: 22 • Strikeouts: 31 • Stolen Bases: 11 • Batting Average (AVG): .282 • On-Base Percentage (OBP): .374 • Slugging Percentage (SLG): .365 • OPS: .739
