I ring or email the hotel, give the lowest prices I found and ask if they can beat that if I book direct.. they will gladly cut out the middle man to save more! saves hundreds! especially if you go last minute as they want to fill the rooms as the hotel shops & bars will make more money the more customers. we saved over 900£ doing this 🙌 but lost 1 day out of 10 because of flights but well worth it 👌

Now try Agoda- they generally are cheaper. Booking book in blocks and use dynamic pricing. Sometimes they are ok, other times not, it depends on availability they have in the chunk they booked

Now call the venue direct, tell them your third party rate and ask if they can better it. Likely they can and you’ve got greater chance of being upgraded on check in.

It’s to do with your cookies and cache for over searching if you cleared them you’ll get the lower price again

I’ve tried booking the free cancellation option thru booking.com then checking the price on the last day to cancel and if cheaper I cancel and book again at the cheaper price

Found an apartment in Barcelona for 10 days via booking.com. Via googling figured out it was one of many owned by a management company in Barcelona. Went direct to their website and saved £700. I’ve have cried if I found this out later!
