The referee got it right. Szoboszlai commits a foul on Haaland first but they get advantage, but then haaland commits a foul because he prevents Szoboszlai from clearing the ball. So Szoboszlai should get a freekick but because Szoboszlai committed a foul earlier on Haaland the decision is freekick and a red card, because it is a clear goal scoring opportunity.
